WSJ Vertical Video

01 · Begin here

An immersive, mobile-first video experience designed for a newsroom. I led its experience architecture across navigation, gesture behavior, sound state, captions, responsive layouts, and reusable player states, helping move the concept from a blank page to the WSJ mobile app.

Why it matters for this role: New format definition, visual storytelling, mobile interaction, and scalable content patterns.

02 · Discovery

Search reframed as a broader discovery journey, not simply a place to enter a query. The work explored how readers find known stories, investigate developing topics, and move through the product from a critical mobile entry point.

Why it matters for this role: Content discovery, mobile navigation, information architecture, and intent.

03 · Personalization

A personalized mobile feed informed by followed topics and interests while preserving the identity of an editorial product. The design challenge was making relevance useful without allowing personalization to flatten the publication's point of view.

Why it matters for this role: Recommendation experiences, audience context, editorial judgment, and repeat engagement.

04 · Editorial scale

A modular foundation for the WSJ homepage and section fronts, giving editorial teams more direct control over how stories are assembled and presented. The system was designed to support composition and reuse across high-visibility consumer surfaces.

Why it matters for this role: Content merchandising, editorial tooling, modular systems, and cross-surface consistency.
